James Says

There are flights to Luxembourg available London City Airport as well as from Gatwick and Heathrow, and additional regional connections are also available through Manchester. Budget travellers trying to reach the Grand Duchy are more likely to take advantage of cheap flights to Frankfurt Hahn, and travel by coach from there. Alternatively, Luxembourg also has reasonable rail links with the city centres (and main airports) of Brussels, Frankfurt and Paris.

Mark Says

There is much more to Luxembourg than cheap fuel, tax breaks and European Union bureaucrats. Sandwiched between Belgium, France and Germany, the tiny Grand Duchy seems to have taken the best bits from its neighbours to create the closest thing to the model European country. Much of the countryside, especially in the northern Ardennes region bordering Belgium, is breathtakingly dramatic, whilst the imaginatively named capital, Luxembourg City, is small but perfectly formed, perched on a rocky outcrop above the Petrusse and Alzette Valleys. Wine lovers descend on the Moselle Valley , a region famed for its fruity white vintages. The river itself runs along the south eastern border with Germany and many of the chateaux are open to the public. Luxembourg City is clearly prosperous, but never showy. It is also remarkably clean, although the odd bumbling drunk always slips through the net to add a bit of character. The heart of the city is the Old Town, a maze of narrow streets lined with refined restaurants, old coffee shops and quaint boutiques. For the best views of the city head to the gently meandering Chemin de la Corniche, a beautiful promenade straddling the cliffs above the Alzette leading to the Casements, a 14 mile network of tunnels dug into the rock. Luxembourg 's position as a business and European administrative centre means accommodation can be hard to come by. It is certainly worth booking ahead if you can.
